Maria Włoszczowska performs at Aldeburgh
Maria Włoszczowska will play a sold-out concert at Aldeburgh Festival tomorrow. Performing with pianist James Baillieu at Aldeburgh’s Jubilee Hall, the duo will present a programme which pieces together accounts of Benjamin Britten and Yehudi Menuhin’s concerts at liberated concentration camps in July 1945. The programme has been pieced together through camp survivor testimonies, and is performed in this recital as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the war in the camps, and to those who survived its unimaginable horrors.
The programme is to include Grieg’s Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 1 in F, Op. 8 and Ernest Chausson’s Poème, Op.25 arranged for violin and piano, which Maria explores in June 2026’s issue of The Strad.
