We are delighted to see such wonderful coverage of Laura van der Heijden’s recent collaboration with Sinfonia Cymru, which included performances across Wales in Criccieth, Aberystwyth and Cardiff.

After attending the final performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, The Guardian’s Rian Evans praised Laura’s playing for its “quiet authority and effortless grace”, noting how her presence inspired the young ensemble throughout the programme and describing her as “a shining role model to musicians of her generation”.

Taking centre stage in Dobrinka Tabakova’s Cello Concerto, Laura “moved up a gear… with the now fiery cello writing showing van der Heijden at her virtuosic best.”

This glowing review is a wonderful reflection of Laura’s inspiring collaboration with Sinfonia Cymru and her partnership with the next generation of musicians. If you missed the performances live, you can catch up on the Cardiff performance on BBC Radio 3 on 18th March.
