The Tallis Scholars celebrate a double win as People’s Choice in Limelight’s 2025 Artist of the Year Awards and runners-up in the Critics Choice.

This follows a hugely successful tour in October 2025 with sold out performances, speaking engagements, broadcasts and workshops for local choirs. This was the 11th tour of Australia in the group’s just over fifty year history and was as thrilling for them as their first.

Peter Phillips (Founding Director) comments in Limelight Magazine “Australia has long been a special touring location for us. Our first-ever intercontinental tour was to you in 1985, singing on jet lag being just one of the skills we had to acquire overnight. How green we were, and how green we still are, really – although the tour just concluded was our 11th. But the experience gets more and more intense. Packed, cheering audiences, and now, to cap it all, this wonderful vote. When we started in 1973, it wasn’t at all clear that the general public would be interested either in us or the music we were promoting. This award has helped make the journey seem all the more worthwhile.”
