Laura van der Heijden performs with Bath Philharmonia

Yesterday, cellist Laura van der Heijden led a masterclass with young musicians at King Edward’s School Bath, sharing her insights and experience with students ahead of her performance this evening with Bath Philharmonia.
Tonight at The Forum, Bath, Laura joins the orchestra to perform Dobrinka Tabakova’s Concerto for Cello and Strings and the World Concert Premiere of Rebecca Dale’s work ‘There Will Come’. The full programme also includes Debussy’s Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune, excerpts from Benji Bower’s Terra Coda, and the first movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 (Pastorale).
The performance falls in the middle of a busy summer of recitals and chamber music for Laura, as she tours across the UK with duo partner Jâms Coleman and the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective. Highlights include appearances at Thaxted Festival, Fishguard Festival, Ryedale Festival, and Wigmore Hall.
