Released today is cellist Laura van der Heijden’s debut concerto album on Chandos Records; the most recent in her rapidly growing discography.

With the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Ryan Wigglesworth, Laura presents the premiere recording of Cheryl Frances-Hoad’s Cello Concerto “Earth, Sea, Air” having premiered the work with them in 2023. Written for van der Heijden, the work draws inspiration from three disparate aspects of the natural world. In addition, the release also includes Walton’s Cello Concerto alongside Bridge’s Oration. This summer, Laura takes to the stage of the Royal Albert Hall with the same team to perform Frances-Hoad’s new work at the 2024 BBC Proms.
