Following her celebrated return to the US for sold-out recitals with Jeremy Denk in New York City and Philadelphia at the beginning of the year, Maria Włoszczowska joins the Chamber Orchestra of Europe for performances at Mozartwoche, Salzburg and Casals Forum, Kronberg on the 1st and 2nd February. Directing the ensemble for part of the programme, including in Mozart’s Così fan tutte Overture and Salieri’s 26 Variations on “La Folia di Spagna”, where she is also soloist, she is joined by piano virtuoso Kirill Gerstein for Mozart’s K466 Piano Concerto in D minor, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat major, and Salieri’s Piano Concerto, also in B flat major. Find out more about the concerts here.

While she has led the Chamber Orchestra of Europe in the past, this marks Maria’s debut directing the ensemble. Further highlights in the coming months include directing Angela Hewitt and the Royal Northern Sinfonia, chamber concerts at Wigmore Hall, as well as the Finnish and Italian debuts of the Valo Quartet, of which Maria is first violinist, at Helsinki Seriös and the Trasimeno Music Festival.
