Viviane Hagner is in Rennes for her first concert as Artist in Residence with the Orchestre National de Bretagne. She is currently preparing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D minor, under the French conductor Benjamin Levy for performances on the 19th and 20th of October at the Opéra de Rennes.

This is the first of four visits that Viviane will be making to the orchestra this year. At the start of December Viviane will be performing a solo violin recital named Bach Inspiration #1 bringing together three of Bach’s most demanding works for solo violin, the partitas No. 3 and No. 4, and his Sonata No.1 for solo violin. This concert will be followed later in the month with Bach Inspiration #2. For this second concert inspired by Bach, Viviane Hagner has invited the musicians of the Orchestre National de Bretagne to join her in performing two of Bach’s masterpieces of chamber music: the third Brandenburg Concerto and the Concerto for violin and oboe.
