Returning to the US after recent successes with the National Symphony Orchestra Washington and the Houston Symphony, Alpesh Chauhan makes his debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall this week. He reunites with violinist Hilary Hahn, with whom he recently performed Brahms at Wolf Trap and in Seattle, this time for Sibelius’ riveting violin concerto. The concerts also feature Saad Haddad’s Aysheen, a world premiere and LA Phil commission, described by its composer as an homage to our current time, and a suite of movements from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake ballet, specially selected for this occasion.
