Tonight, tomorrow and Saturday (27 – 29 April), Laura van der Heijden is in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Under the baton of Mark Wigglesworth, she performs Shostakovich’s Second Cello Concerto.

Laura returns to Scotland in May to join the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Ryan Wigglesworth. First, Laura gives the world premiere of Cheryl Frances-Hoad’s new Cello Concerto. The BBC Commission is part of an exciting programme which also includes Strauss’s Till Eulenspiegel (orch. Hasenohrl) and Elgar’s Symphony No. 2, and will be broadcast on Radio 3. Following that, Laura performs Walton’s Cello Concerto in the BBC SSO’s final concert of the season.
