World Premiere of Olli Mustonen’s new commission
Olli Mustonen’s new work, a tribute to Pablo Casals commissioned by the Kronberg Academy, premieres today 23rd September at the opening gala of the Casals Forum, the new home of Kronberg Academy. In memory of Pablo Casals, the commission celebrates Casals’s Catalan and Spanish roots as well as his connection to Bach. The opening gala precedes the Kronberg Festival which runs until 3 October.
Mustonen’s life as a composer is at the heart of his piano playing and conducting. Frequently bringing his own works to the chamber music stage, Mustonen is set to perform his Piano Quintet at the Helsinki Music Centre on 7 October 2022, coinciding with the album release of the quintet and his String Quartet No. 1 with the Engegård Quartet on LAWO Classics.
