Olli Mustonen embarks upon his tenth tour of Australia this weekend. With the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Mustonen performs Milhaud’s Suite de concert de la création du monde, Mustonen’s own Piano Quintet, and Schubert’s famous ‘The Trout’. Kicking off his first concert of the tour at Melbourne Recital Centre on Saturday 17th September, followed by further performances in Melbourne from 18th – 19th September, Mustonen and the ACO take Schubert’s Trout to Sydney (20th – 25th), Brisbane (26th), and Wollongong (28th).

ACO’s new venue at Pier 2/3 in Sydney also sees Mustonen in recital, performing his all-Beethoven recital (23th) and as a duo (29th) with ACO’s Artistic Director and Leader Richard Tognetti, featuring Debussy, Janacek, and Bach. With further solo (1st Oct) and duo (2nd) recitals at the UKARIA Cultural Centre in South Australia, Mustonen concludes his tour.

“Australia has always been a very important country to me,” Mustonen speaks to Limelight in his feature interview. “Since the beginning, the collaboration with Richard Tognetti and the ACO has been something very, very important. It’s one of the most wonderful musical relationships of my life.” Read the full interview here.
