James Brown has announced that he will retire as an artist manager on 31st July 2026. As other senior colleagues also wish to step down, the decision has been taken to close James Brown Management (JBM) on that date.

James comments “I have been working in the music industry for 42 years and running agencies for nearly 36 years and although I intend to remain active in the business in some way, I would now like to do so on a more flexible basis. I also now have three grandchildren, whose company I greatly enjoy and with whom I intend to spend more time. I can’t speak highly enough of my colleagues in JBM and Hazard Chase and it has been a privilege to work with so many outstanding artists over the years. A high priority for the coming months will be to help our present staff and artists to move on to new jobs and agencies. I remain a strong advocate for the artist management community and as a former Chairman and Honorary Life Member of the International Artist Managers’ Association, I hope to continue to play a useful role in the sector.”

James and his fellow directors will oversee the closure of JBM Ltd over the next couple of years. Until 31st July 2026 it will be business as usual.
