Leonard Elschenbroich performs at the Edinburgh International Festival this Friday, 8 August, alongside pianist Alexei Grynyuk. Their recital at Queen’s Hall features Brahms’s Cello Sonata No. 2 and Vier ernste Gesänge, Robert Schumann’s Three Romances for Oboe, and Clara Schumann’s Three Romances for Violin, drawing inspiration from and exploring the famous love triangle between the three composers.

Having recently returned from the United States, where they gave recitals at New York’s Bohemian National Hall and Washington DC’s Phillips Collection, the duo will return to the US later this year for a recital at Duke University, North Carolina, on 2 November. The programme will again feature works by Clara Schumann and Brahms.

If you miss their Edinburgh performance, you can tune in to the live broadcast on BBC Radio 3 at 13:00 on Friday 8 August.
