Tess Jackson at the 2025 BBC Proms
Tess Jackson will be taking the podium for the CBeebies ‘Wildlife Jamboree’ Prom this Sunday. Joined by the Royal Northern Sinfonia and presenters Chantelle Lindsay and Puja Panchkoty, Tess will conduct a programme filled with animal fun at Gateshead’s Glasshouse. Tess Jackson made her Proms debut in 2024 and this year was featured by the BBC Proms as one of ten exceptional artists aged 30 and under.
Missing this? Tess will also be conducting the Relaxed Prom with the National Youth Orchestra on 10 August at the Royal Albert Hall. She will be taking on major intergalactic works which include extracts from Holst’s The Planets, John Williams’ Star Wars, and Caroline Shaw’s The Observatory.
Tess’ third Prom will see her conduct Gavin Higgins’ ‘Rough Voices’ on 23 August at the Bristol Beacon. Higgins’ piece, which was written as a musical response to the Covid-19 pandemic on behalf of marginalised voices, will be complemented and contrasted by Mozart’s Symphony No. 39 in E flat major, Sibelius’ ‘Rakastava’ and Arvo Pärt’s ‘Tabula rasa’.
We are incredibly excited for Tess’ three Proms and the varied and dynamic repertoire she will take on.
