Nicolas Namoradze Returns to Honens

2018 Honens Prize Laureate Nicolas Namoradze returns to the Honens International Piano Competition this year, playing a central role in shaping the next generation of pianists. As a member of the First Jury, Namoradze helped select the ten semifinalists for the 2025 edition of the prestigious competition, bringing his insight as both a concert pianist and former Honens winner.
In addition to his work on the jury, Namoradze is leading the newly launched Honens Lab, an innovative programme designed for emerging pianists and running concurrently with the competition in Calgary in October 2025. Curated and directed by Namoradze, the Lab offers six participants personalised masterclasses and seminars based on Honens’ philosophy of the “Complete Artist.” Topics include performance psychology, mental training, practice optimization, and mindfulness—areas in which Namoradze has established himself as a thought leader.
Namoradze will also take to the stage during the competition in a special Neurorecital performance on October 15, blending his musical artistry with his ongoing work in cognitive science and mental strategies for performers.
