Following their recent performances with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and UKARIA Cultural Centre, violinist Anthony Marwood and classical accordionist James Crabb now reunite to embark on a UK tour.

Originating from Dundee, the tour will be particularly special for Crabb with performances across Scotland, including Gatehouse Music Society (15th May), the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (16th May), and Ardkinglas House, Cairndow (17th May). The duo will perform a varied programme, including many of Crabb’s own arrangements for violin and accordion, from Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, to Piazzolla’s Tango Suites, and Sally Beamish’s Lament (from Seavaigers). The programme will also feature the world premiere of Crabb’s new arrangement of Ades’ Märchentänze.

The duo’s tour culminates in a concert at Wigmore Hall on 26 May at 1pm. The performance will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 as part of the Wigmore Hall/BBC Lunchtime Concerts series. Listen live here.

In addition to their duo performances, Marwood and Crabb will also perform as part of the Newbury Spring Festival on 24 May. They will join forces with actor/singers Walter van Dyk and Mary Carewe, cellist John Myerscough, and pianist Michael Haslam to present ‘O Moon of Alabama: A Kurt Weill Cabaret’.
