We are delighted to welcome the Attacca Quartet to JBM for European (excluding Spain and Portugal) management.

Based in New York, the group was formed by Amy Schroeder and Andrew Yee at the Julliard School. Their programming sets them apart from other ensembles – it is not unusual to hear them performing works by Beethoven and Radiohead on the same billing…

This two-time Grammy Award-winning quartet is recognised as one of the most versatile and outstanding ensembles of the moment. They are passionate advocates of contemporary repertoire and are dedicated to presenting and recording new works.

In 2021 they released two albums that embody their redefinition of what a string quartet can be: Real Life featuring guest artists such as Tokimonsta, Daedalus and Anne Müller, followed by Of all Joys, which features works by Philip Glass, Arvo Pärt, and music from the Renaissance period. They worked on and released two collaborations with Caroline Shaw in 2019 and 2023, namely Orange and Evergreen, both of which won Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance at the Grammy Awards.

The New York Times

“Attacca Quartet is quickly becoming the authoratitive ensemble for chamber works by Ms. Shaw, John Adams and, recently, Gabriella Smith.”

The New York Times

“They may be a relatively young ensemble, but already they come very close to epitomizing the string quartet ideal…Mastery like this is scarce enough in quartets that have played together for decades.”

Washington Post

“The Attacca Quartet enthralled a standing-room-only crowd.”
