Rising young conductor Tess Jackson takes to the podium for her debut at the Volksoper Wien, where she is Musical Assistant, for performances of Cabaret on 30th March and 2nd April. Cabaret, with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, is set in 1929–30 Berlin as the Nazi regime looms, focussing on the hedonistic lifestyle at the Kit Kat Club and the relationship between the American writer Clifford Bradshaw and extraordinary creature of Berlin nightlife, singer Sally Bowles.

Tess Jackson continues her work as Associate Conductor with the National Youth Orchestra throughout 2024, this summer assisting Nathalie Stutzmann as the orchestra looks forward to appearances at Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, and Saffron Hall. Later this year she makes her foray in the US to assist Music Director Enrique Mazzola on the Lyric Opera of Chicago production of Beethoven’s Fidelio. In 2025 Tess makes her much anticipated symphonic debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 and Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with pianist Jeneba Kanneh-Mason.
