This week, the Valo Quartet makes its UK debut at Forde Abbey in Somerset and Upper Cranbourne Farm in Winchester, with a programme of Haydn’s Op. 64 No.2, Britten’s Quartet No.1 and Beethoven’s The Harp.

Valo – ‘light’ in Finnish – brings together four musicians (originally from Poland, the UK and Finland) who have often collaborated in various formations at festivals and series across Europe, such as Festival Resonances in Belgium. Launched at the beginning of this season, the Quartet comes together again next month to join the 25th anniversary edition of Anthony Marwood’s Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival.
