JBM Artists in Festive Performances this December

December sees a number of JBM Artists taking to the stage for festive performances in the lead-up to Christmas and New Year, with artists playing, conducting, and presening at major venues in the UK and beyond.
From 2nd to the 13th of December, José Salazar returns to Birmingham Royal Ballet to lead performances of The Nutcracker, and then makes his debut at Greek National Ballet in performances of Giselle, running from the 19th of December to early January.
Jess Gillam will play a run of Christmas shows with her group, the Jess Gillam Ensemble, with performances at venues including Saffron Hall, The Glasshouse, and Kings Place.
The Tallis Scholars have a number of concerts coming up:
- 4th of December at the Miller Theatre, NY: the group will premiere the first piece in a major triptych by Matthew Martin.
- 20th of December at Smith Square Hall: the choir will sing two seasonal concerts due to popular demand at the annual Christmas Festival.
- 21st of December at the Apex in Bury St Edmunds: the group rounds off their calendar year with a festive concert.
Nicholas Chalmers will conduct several choral concerts at major London venues in December:
- 10th/11th of December: Christmas Concerts with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and Sinfonia Smith Square
- 22nd – 24th of December: ‘Carols at the Albert Hall’ with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, National Youth Choir, Royal Choral Society and British Imperial Military Band, presented by Jess Gillam
Karen Ní Bhroin will conduct Ghost Stories and Music for Christmas with BBCSO at Barbican on the 14th, and Anna Lapwood’s Christmas Concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 18th of December.
Eric Whitacre conducts Christmas concerts with the Flemish Radio Choir in Ghent and in Flagey, Brussels on 19th and 20th of December.
Daniel Hyde conducts the iconic ‘Carols from King’s’, broadcast on television on BBC 2 on Christmas Eve, as well as ‘A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols’, live on BBC Radio 4 and the World Service.
Benjamin Bayl conducts the final performance of a run of ‘La Fest’ at Staatsoper Stuttgart on 31st December. A celebratory evening fit for the end of the year!
