Laura van der Heijden announced as Artist in Residence for Lammermuir Festival 2025
This week Lammermuir Festival announced details of their full 2025 programme including the news that cellist and RPS Instrumentalist of the Year, Laura van der Heijden will feature as Artist in Residence. With a long-standing relationship with the Festival dating back to 2018 – including solo and chamber performances with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective and pianist Tom Poster – Laura is now delighted to return this year:
‘I’m so excited to be Artist in Residence at Lammermuir this year – the opportunity to play my favourite music with my favourite people and share it with such a wonderful audience is an absolute joy!’
Laura will make six appearances as both soloist and ensemble musician throughout the festival, including performances with the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective, pianist Jâms Coleman, the Maxwell String Quartet and chamber partners Max Baillie, Marcel Comendant, and Misha Mullov-Abbado as part of a specially curated ‘Dances and Duos with Friends’ concert. An additional highlight of the festival will be Laura’s performance alongside violinist Maria Wloszczowska (Lammermuir’s outgoing artist in-residence) of Brahms Double Concerto with conductor Dinis Sousa and the Royal Northern Sinfonia.
