Just back from Feldkirch, Austria as soloist and director with the Pforte Chamber Orchestra, violinist Maria Włoszczowska is now in London for the first of her two performances at Wigmore Hall this Spring.

The first performance, today, 23rd of April at 7.30pm will include a programme of Mozart’s String Quintet in B flat K174, Schoenberg’s String Trio Op. 45 and Brahms’ Viola Quintet in B minor Op. 115, all works featuring viola(s) as part of Timothy Ridout’s Wigmore Residency. Maria will perform alongside regular chamber colleagues, Tim Crawford, Timothy Ridout, Ting-Ru Lai and Tim Posner.

On the 6th of May, Maria returns to Wigmore to reunite with chamber music partner, pianist Jeremy Denk and The Gesualdo Six vocal ensemble for a programme exploring Ives’ Violin Sonatas and ‘some of their thematic source material, derived from hymns and popular songs of the period’.
