This week, Olli Mustonen marks the end to his two seasons as the first Artist-in-Residence of the Camerata Zurich. This Sunday 19th March, Mustonen appears in triple role as conductor, pianist and composer, performing Rautavaara’s Pelimannit, Mustonen’s own Piano Quintet, Nielsen’s Little Suite and, joined by trumpeter Immanuel Richter, Shostakovich’s Concerto for Piano, Trumpet and String Orchestra.

Throughout his residency, Mustonen often appeared in his triple role, performing his own compositions including Nonetto II, Toccata, Triptych, alongside works by Schubert, Mozart, Shchedrin, Sibelius and Walton. Earlier this season, Mustonen was joined by Alina Bercu (piano), Vera Schnider (harp) and Helga Varadi (harpsichord) in a programme of works by Martin, Mustonen and Martinú.
